Inactive / Dormant Account Policy

Najikei — Nepal's nearby marketplace · Last updated: July 2026

1. Why this policy exists

Old, abandoned listings from accounts no one is actively checking are a common source of stale prices, unreachable sellers, and scam bait for buyers. This policy keeps Najikei's marketplace current and trustworthy.

2. What counts as dormant

  • Inactive: no login for 6 consecutive months.
  • Dormant: no login for 12 consecutive months.

3. What happens at each stage

  • At 6 months inactive:your active listings are automatically paused (hidden from Explore and search) so buyers don't contact you about items you may no longer have. Your account and data are otherwise untouched.
  • At 12 months dormant:we'll attempt to notify you by email before taking any further action.
  • At 24 months with no response:we may permanently delete the account and its associated listings, messages, and profile data — except records we're legally required to retain (see §5).

4. Reactivating your account

Simply log back in at any time before deletion — your account, profile, and paused listings return exactly as you left them. You can then manually republish any listing you'd like buyers to see again.

5. Data we keep even after deletion

Featured Listing payment records and any reports/moderation history tied to fraud investigations may be retained beyond account deletion where required for legal, tax, or law-enforcement purposes under Nepali law.

6. Closing your account yourself

You don't have to wait for dormancy rules — you can request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us directly.

7. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of Nepal, including the Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018).
